Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Canadian privacy law, including British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- When you browse this website: we do not ask for any personal information, and we do not use cookies or advertising trackers. We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free tool that counts visits and shows which pages are viewed, the referring website, country, and device or browser type. It does not identify you personally or follow you across other websites. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also records basic technical information such as your IP address and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
- When you email or message us: we receive your name, email address and anything you choose to tell us.
- When you work with us (for example as a client, partner, model or performer in a campaign): contact details, and photos, names or quotes you give us permission to use. For event campaigns we collect a signed consent form before featuring anyone.
How we use it
- To reply to you and provide the services you ask for.
- To plan and run marketing campaigns, only within the permissions you give us.
- To keep business and tax records as the law requires.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (such as our email and website hosting providers), with event organisers when you take part in their event, or when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Some of our service providers (such as Google for email and Vercel for website hosting) may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (for example, financial records). You can withdraw your consent to us using your photo, name or words at any time; we will stop using them in new materials and remove posts we control.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent, by emailing goldensharkmedia@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. For anyone under 19 featured in a campaign, we require a parent or guardian's consent.
